Director of Christian A. Johnson Institute for Effective Teaching Announced

The Office of the Dean of the Faculty is pleased to announce that James A. Zimmerman has James A. Zimmermanbeen appointed to serve as Director of the Christian A. Johnson Institute for Effective Teaching, effective July 1, 2010.
 
Zimmerman received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Michigan and most recently served as Associate Director of the Research Academy for University Learning at Montclair State University. Zimmerman has earned several outstanding teaching awards, has published in the scholarship of teaching and learning and has a successful track record of securing external funding to support his work. 

“I am very happy that James Zimmerman is joining Rollins,” said Associate of the Dean of Faculty Don Davison. “James has exciting ideas for reinvigorating the Christian A. Johnson Institute and is eager to work with our faculty.”

“The addition of James to our community will further actualize a comprehensive faculty development system supporting excellence in teaching and scholarship,” said Dean of the Faculty Laurie Joyner.

Starting July 6, Zimmerman’s office will be located in the International House.
