Meredith Hein, assistant director of community engagement, along with Rollins' Americorps Vista Gabe Anderson, and Lindsey Clark (class of 2011) were interviewed on Friday, March 5 on The Daily Buzz, a nationally syndicated morning television news program.
Hein, Clark and Anderson were interviewed about Rollins' alternative spring break immersion programs that were held March 8-12. More than 50 Rollins students, faculty and staff spent their week-long break engaged in helping others and learning how to relate classroom theory with real life experiences.
Spring break immersion programs are one of many ways Rollins embraces its mission of educating students for responsible leadership and global citizenship. This year's spring break immersion trips included: Poverty and Health Immersions in Washington, DC; Make Coffee Not War in Guatemala; and Community-based research with issues of social justice and women in Mexico.
