ART 380F Art in the City

A first-hand experience with contemporary art and working with artists in New York City. Students will visit institutions like the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, PS 1 and The Drawing Center as well as galleries and artists' studios that they will not see anywhere else. Students will produce a visual journal reflecting on their experiences.

Travel dates: March 8 - 11, 2011

Prerequisite: Majors or Minors in Studio Art or Art History will receive priority scheduling, but other students are welcome to apply.

Credit: One (1) semester hour graded.

Cost: $1180 (airfare and airport transportation not included).
