Dawn Feavyour is the Visual Resources Curator in the Department of Art and Art History. She received her Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Fine Art from Staffordshire University, England, and Microsoft Office Specialist Master Certification in Florida.
Dawn manages the Visual Resources Collection (VRC), which is a teaching collection that primarily supports the instructional needs of the Department of Art and Art History and, where possible, the rest of the College. The collections consist of over 6,000 digital images, 70,000 35mm slides, approx. 200 audiovisual materials, 200 reference books, and various visual resource production and projection equipment. The collections cover a broad range of subjects in the arts including materials from various periods and cultures.
Dawn's background is collections management and collections data management in various libraries, museums and art galleries. Her areas of expertise include managing information on image, object and book collections, database administration, providing user support and training in digital image applications, and creating website content.
Dawn is the Department's contact person for IT and the Olin Library (on computer and technology issues), and for the Cornell Fine Arts Museum (to process faculty requests for images from the Museum's permanent collection). She serves as a Collections Administrator for the Rollins CONTENTdm digital image collections, and is the Rollins User Support/Instructor Privileges Administrator for the ARTstor digital image library. Dawn managed the redesign of the Department of Art and Art History's website, and currently serves as Web Editor for the Department.
Dawn is an active member of the Visual Resources Association (VRA) and VRA-South East Chapter, and currently serves on the VRA Education Committee. She is also a member of the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA).
