International Students

Part of what makes Rollins such a vibrant and renowned learning environment is the international perspective we incorporate into all aspects of our environment. As part of that effort, students that come to Rollins from around the world make up a significant and valued segment of our campus community.

You will find nearly 200 students at Rollins from countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, the South Pacific Islands, and Latin America. As an international student, you will be personally guided by The Director of International Admission, who will assist you throughout the admission process.

To learn more about Rollins, we have prepared a quick fact sheet for students and parents. As they become available, they will be offered in multiple languages.

Scholarship Information

International students are eligible for academic scholarships based on their SAT/ACT scores and their high school performance. For international students these range from $5,000 per year all the way up to full tuition, room, and board. Each applicant is reviewed to determine if they are eligible for scholarship and there is no need to fill out any type of scholarship application. We do not offer need based financial aid to international students. For more information, please visit Scholarships and Financial Aid.

Test Score Waived Option

Beginning with Fall 2008 admission, applicants who do NOT desire consideration for academic merit scholarships may select the Test Score Waived Option. Candidates selecting this option must submit supplemental materials:

  • A graded paper from a core academic course in the junior or senior year.  Examples include essays or research papers, lab reports, or work in mathematics or related fields.
  • A "portfolio" reflecting the candidate's strengths, talents, or interests.  This requirement is intentionally left open-ended to provide each candidate creative opportunity. Examples include written work such as poetry, slides of original artwork, multi-media presentations, scrapbooks, videos or DVDs of athletic or artistic performances.  Anything that helps the Admission Committee understand the applicant's talents and interests and potential to contribute to the Rollins community. (Please note that your portfolio will not be returned.)

Additional Admission Requirements

Along with the regular admission requirements at Rollins, international students must meet additional requirements.

If your native language is not English or you are in a school where English is not the primary language, you must demonstrate proficiency in English through a certified test or program. A score of 213 (CBT), 80 (IBT) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or higher indicate adequate proficiency.

Undergraduate international students and citizens of a country other than the U.S. are not eligible to receive need-based financial assistance from Rollins College. They must be able to finance all educational expenses, and proof of this ability to pay is required before the Certification of Eligibility for a student visa (the I-20 form) is issued. A completed Certificate of Financial Resources signed by a bank official and with parent or sponsor signature must indicate resources to adequately finance tuition, fees, room and board, books, personal living expenses, and travel to and from the home country. This certificate should be no more than six months old. Students receiving financial assistance from a government or agency need to submit an official letter listing the amount of the award and any special billing instructions.
The application deadline for international students is March 15, but students can submit for either Early Decision round as well.
